Perpetual Indoor Gardening with LED Grow Lights for Maximum Efficiency

Gardening with LED Grow Lights for Maximum EfficiencyThe best way to maximize the efficiency of an indoor garden is to set up a perpetual gardening with LED grow lights. For successful perpetual gardening, dedicated areas for separate stages of growth are required: cloning stage, vegetative stage

and flowering stage.

The basic idea of perpetual gardening is to have fully ready plants available for each stage of growth at all times. Plants from flowering stage can be harvested and replaced by the plants from vegetative stage. Similarly, the vegetative stage plants can be replaced with rooted clones and the clone scan be replaced with new cuttings, creating a perpetual cycle that will give more frequent harvests.

The cycle of plant growth at all stages has to be continual and healthy. To accomplish this, a good grow light will be necessary along with well maintained temperature conditions and plant requirements. Perpetual gardening is usually carried out in two different ways, continual harvest and entire harvest replacement.

Either process will need dedicated areas and good lighting system. Perpetual gardening is usually done on a commercial basis but can also be carried out in homes. To start this type of gardening, choose the grow light and plan your dedicated spaces. A high quality LED grow light system will be necessary to get proper growth and maintain an efficient use of power for the grow.

Continual Harvest

Continual harvest in perpetual gardening is a process of harvesting plants continually on weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly basis. Depending on how frequently you would like to harvest, you should decide on how many dedicated flowering areas you have. Flowering typically takes 2 months, so if you would like to have a harvest every two months, you will need 1 flowering area. If you would like to harvest every month, you will need 2 flowering areas. If you would like to harvest every 2 weeks, you will need 4 flowering areas and so on. It can become tough managing the entire garden on the same feeding schedule and covering all the stages of growth. But, keeping a track of timing can make things simple. For staying on schedule, you need to take fresh clones every week, two weeks, or after a month.

If plants are harvested from the flowering room, the same number of plants should be replaced from the vegetative room and same should be moved from the cloning room. Plan each space so it is large enough to contain the number of plants needed to keep your perpetual harvest running like a factory. The advantage of continual perpetual harvest is; equal distribution of workload and more frequent harvests without any down time.

The disadvantage is maintaining and managing the different feeding regiments of the plants. All of them will have varying needs of UltraGrow Liquid Nutrients at the different stages of growth. This can become especially tricky if you have more than one flowering area.

Entire Harvest Replacement

The second way of perpetual gardening is through entire harvest replacement process, which is the same as a continual harvest with just one flowering area. This perpetual gardening technique involves harvesting the entire flowering room and replacing it with the plants ready to be moved from the vegetative growth area. This process requires a proper growth time and right adjustment of LED lighting system.

Alternatively, if plants in the vegetative stage are left for a longer duration than required, they can become overgrown, stressed, or root bound. Therefore, before you start either of perpetual gardening methods, ensure the understanding of the genetics you plan on growing. The time a plant takes to grow to a desired size can vary from strain to strain, so read up and become familiar with your plants before you start your perpetual garden.

The Advantage of entire harvest replacement is uniform feeding regiment of the entire flowering room, and one strike care for treating pests and pathogens. The disadvantage of the entire harvest replacement technique is the delays between harvests, which will be the cycle time of your flowering room
