Simple Weight Loss Smoothie Recipes

These easy and healthy smoothie recipes for weight loss should get you hooked. Once you are hooked, move on to the more complicated diet smoothie recipes.

BANANA SMOOTHIE (“The Usual”)

1 banana
1 cup of plain yogurt
1 cup of orange juice

Cover and blend until smooth.

BANANA PEACH SMOOTHIE

1 cup mashed ripe bananas, frozen
1 cup peach nectar
1/2 cup low-fat milk

Put all ingredients into blender. Blend about 30 seconds or until smooth. Serve over ice cubes. Divide into two glasses.

BLUEBERRY SMOOTHIE

1 cup frozen blueberries
8 oz. fat free yogurt
Thin with skim milk

Blend. Because the berries are frozen, the result is more like a malt. If plain yogurt is used, add Splenda and/or vanilla. Or

try blueberry or lemon yogurt.

This weight loss smoothie recipe serves 2.

KIWI STRAWBERRY SMOOTHIE

3 peeled kiwi
1 cup frozen banana slices
3/4 cup pineapple juice
1/2 cup frozen strawberries

Place all ingredients into blender. Cover and blend until smoothie consistency is achieved.

FRUIT SMOOTHIE

1 banana, peeled, cut in half, and frozen
4 or 5 frozen strawberries, stem removed
1 six ounce container strawberry or strawberry/banana yogurt

Thaw frozen banana and strawberries for 5 to 10 minutes. Combine all ingredients in blender. Pulse the blender button until you can tell the ingredients have all been chopped smooth.

Makes 2 servings.

WATERMELON WEIGHT LOSS SMOOTHIE RECIPE

2 cups seedless watermelon
1/4 cup soy milk or skim milk
3 ice cubes

Mix. I love the taste of this one!

BANANA BERRY SMOOTHIE

2 bananas
1/2 cup blueberries
1 cup plain yogurt

Peel bananas, slice and place on a cookie sheet. Put in freezer and freeze until solid. Remove from freezer and put in a blender. Slice blueberries and add to blender. Pour in yogurt.

Blend until smooth.

More Advanced Diet Smoothies

I consider these weight loss smoothie recipes advanced only because they contain more ingredients. The ingredients may also be things that you don’t have lying around the house. Some of the recipes call for freezing the fruit overnight.

APPLE BANANA SOY SMOOTHIE

2 ripe bananas, peeled and halved
2 apples, peeled, cored and quartered
10 fl. oz. (300ml) nonfat yogurt
2 tbsp. sugar or Splenda
15 fl. oz. (400ml) organic soya milk

Place ingredients in blender and puree until smoothie consistency is reached.

APRICOT MANGO SMOOTHIE

6 oz. light (reduced sugar) fat-free Apricot-Mango yogurt
1 cup Crystal Light lemonade
1/2 banana
5-6 canned apricot halves

Place all ingredients into blender. Blend on high speed for 1-2 minutes. Pour into glass and serve.

BANANA-BERRY POWER SMOOTHIE

(My Absolute Favorite!)
1/4 cup orange juice
1/2 cup plain, low-fat yogurt
1/2 small, peeled ripe banana
1/4 cup stemmed, sliced strawberries
honey to taste
1 1/2 tablespoons vanilla soy protein powder

Put all of the ingredients in a blender. Blend well until smooth.

APPLE APRICOT SMOOTHIE

1 Golden Delicious apple, peeled, cored and chopped
1 cup apple juice
4 apricots, fresh, pitted (skin optional)
1 banana, peeled
3/4 cup plain or vanilla nonfat yogurt
10 ice cubes
1 Tbsp. honey

Put all of the ingredients in blender. Puree until smooth.

BANANA ORANGE SMOOTHIE

(“Company’s Coming”)
1 8-ounce container nonfat cherry yogurt
1 banana, peeled, sliced
1 orange, peeled, white pith removed, cut into segments
8 frozen dark cherries
6 frozen strawberries

Add ingredients to blender. Cover and blend on medium speed until smooth.

Makes two servings.

BANANA STRAWBERRY ORANGE

1 banana
1 handful of strawberries
1 cup vanilla yogurt
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup orange juice
Handful of ice cubes

Place ingredients in the blender.

Serves 3.

BLUEBERRY BANANA SMOOTHIE

1 ripe medium banana
3/4 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
1/4 cup nonfat vanilla yogurt
3/4 cup skim milk
Pinch of cinnamon (if desired)
1/2 cup of crushed ice

Place all of the ingredients in a blender. Puree until smooth.

Makes 2 servings.

BLUEBERRY PINEAPPLE SMOOTHIE

2 cups chilled fresh or frozen blueberries, slightly thawed
1 cup chilled pineapple-orange juice, or pineapple-orange-strawberry juice
1 8-ounce carton vanilla nonfat yogurt
1 tablespoon sugar

Combine all ingredients in blender. Cover and blend for 1 to 2 minutes or until almost smooth.

Makes 3 servings.

SUNSHINE SMOOTHIE

(Great on a summer afternoon!)
1/2 cup orange juice
4-5 slices frozen peaches
6-7 frozen strawberries
5-6 frozen blueberries
1 banana
6-7 ice cubes
fresh mint (optional)
dash of nutmeg (optional)
1 tsp. honey (optional)

Combine all ingredients except ice cubes, mint and nutmeg in blender. Puree until smooth. Add ice, and puree again.

Pour into a glass and sprinkle nutmeg on top and garnish with some fresh mint.

HEALING SMOOTHIE

(Healthy Smoothie for Weight Loss)
1 firm kiwi fruit, peeled
1/4 cantaloupe , with skin
1 ripe banana

Chop kiwi fruit and cantaloupe. Place juice and banana in a blender and blend until smooth. Pour into a tall glass, drink immediately and enjoy!

This is a great weight loss smoothie recipe for anyone, especially those with ulcers since this soothing drink will protect and heal the stomach lining.

HEALTHY SMOOTHIE

2 cup plain or vanilla yogurt
1 cup orange juice
1 cup grapes
1 apple
1 or 2 small bananas
12 walnuts
1 bale shredded wheat or ½ C. Grape Nuts

To these basic ingredients add/subtract: 2 cups sugar-free frozen fruit, 1 orange, 1 peach, 8 oz. dried apricots (soaked in the orange juice), 1 kiwi, cantaloupe/honeydew melon (in season).

Put all ingredients a blender and blend at high speed until smooth.

HI FIBER BERRY SMOOTHIE

1 cup blackberries
1 cup blueberries
1 cup stemmed and halved strawberries
1 cup low-fat vanilla soymilk
1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
3 ice cubes

Combine all ingredients in blender and puree until smooth. If berries are not fully ripe, add a little honey or Splenda.

APPLE BERRY SMOOTHIE

2 apples, cut into cubes
7 strawberries, pre-frozen
12 seedless red grapes

Put grapes and apple into the blender. Mix until smooth. Add the frozen fruit and mix again until smooth.

MANGO PEACH SMOOTHIE

1 cup peeled mango chunks
1 large peach (about 8 oz.), peeled, pitted, and cut into chunks
1 cup peach nectar
2 tablespoons lime juice

Combine all ingredients in blender and blend until smooth. This weight loss smoothie recipe makes two small servings.

SPINACH AVOCADO DELIGHT

1/2 banana, peeled
1 cup of coconut milk
1/2 cup of pre-frozen mango
3 spoonfuls of avocado
4 leafs of spinach
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 tbsp. low-fat yogurt

Blend until smooth.

OATS AND FRUIT WEIGHT LOSS SMOOTHIE RECIPE

1 banana, peeled and pre-frozen
1/2 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup strawberries, pre-frozen
1/2 cup kiwi, pre-frozen
2 cups soy milk
2 tbsp. flax seeds, freshly grinded
2 tbsp. coconut flakes
2 ice cubes

Freeze the fruits overight. In the morning, add the ingredients to the blender and mix on high until smooth.

ORANGE BANANA GOODNESS

1 cup orange juice
1/2 cup strawberries, pre-frozen
1 large banana, peeled
1/2 cup soy milk or skim milk
1 cup low-fat yogurt

Mix on high until smooth.

ORANGE CREAMSICLE

1 navel orange, peeled
3 tbsp. frozen orange juice concentrate
1/3 cup low-fat yogurt
1/4 tsp. vanilla
3 ice cubes

Combine in blender. Blend until smooth.

MANGO TANGO SMOOTHIE

1 cup orange juice
1 cup pineapple juice
1/2 frozen banana (chunks)
1 cup pineapple sherbet
1 1/2 cups frozen mango slices Pour all liquid ingredients into the blender. Add all frozen ingredients. Blend at MIX setting for 30 seconds then blend at SMOOTH setting until smooth. Serve immediately.
Serves 3-5.

BREAKFAST POW!!! SMOOTHIE

1 kiwi, peeled
1/4 cup goji berries
1 banana, peeled
1/8 cup Cacao powder
1 cup fresh parsely
1 stalk celery
8 oz. water

Add everything except the celery and parsley to your blender. Blend on high for 10 seconds. Add celery and parsley. Mix for another 30 seconds. If the weight loss smoothie is not creamy, blend longer. This smoothie will give you a lot of energy all morning.

SUNRISE BREAKFAST SMOOTHIE

1 Banana, peeled and sliced
1/2 cup of orange juice
1/2 cup of strawberries
A handful of ice cubes

Combine ingredients in blender. Cover and blend until ready.
